Alfalfa Studio: Graphic Design, Branding, Web Design and Visual ...

Is there a more direct way to tell your clients about the freshness of your product than by showing images like these ones?

In the fishing village of Yavaros, Mexico I couldn?t help but noticing these charming hand-painted scenes outside Abarrotes Ramirez or Ramirez grocery store. For locals is not surprising to actually ?see? the provenance of their meats.

In a country whose culture celebrates death, it?s not unusual to see those kind of vivid, naive painted pictures all around. From the Spanish inherited tradition of bullfighting to the colorful maneuvers of lucha libre to the paintings of Frida Kahlo, intensity is deep-rooted in Mexican culture. In a nation of contrasts, Abarrotes Ramirez is an example of the co-existence of many worlds. Where else would you find a store sponsored by Coca-Cola flaunting western typography ?with almost perfect kerning? alongside outsider art-like paintings?

Where would you rather buy your fresh meat? In a transnational super-market chain or in a small mom-and-pop shop (like this one in Yavaros)?
